For this piece, I have been exploring Anxiety and Depression through the use of metaphor. Both these conditions are ones I suffer from daily and my goal was to visual represent these conditions but in a subtle way as opposed to the obvious ways I have represented the conditions in previous work.

The coffee in the cup is a visual representation of the exhaustion I feel most days. The cup being full to the point where it is overflowing represents my emotions which can build up and build up until there is nowhere left for them to build up anymore and they must come out usually in the form of tears. The coffee machine is also in need of cleaning which visually represents that sufferers of these conditions can find even basic household tasks difficult.
